Hey there! I’m Jen and I have
3 4 blogs. I currently work full-time and run these blogs in my spare time.
As of December 2014, after understanding what it means to become financially free in 3 years… thanks to what I learn in The Ultimate Game of Life program… I committed to transforming my blogs into a six-figure passive income stream… so that I can leave my corporate job, have time and location freedom and simply have more fun in my life!
So, as a way to stay accountable… I commit to sharing with you my income from each of these blogs and any insights that may help you become more successful with your blogging efforts and online business.
Here is August’s income report…
A quick note: Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. All of the products listed below are products and services I’ve used before. If you have any questions about any of the income or expenses you can leave a comment and I’ll do my best to reply.

I stayed very consistent with posting in August to the SimpleSewingProjects.com. I posted a couple times on OutfitIdeas4You.com. The earnings dropped quite a bit this month, but I think that’s just the nature of August. Lots of people are on vacation.
Historically, September is a great month for blog revenue. The kids are back to school and people are online looking for new looks, new projects and new home decor.
I also decided to make the push to publish my seasonal color style guides that I’ve been putting off. I’ve been getting tons of personal color analysis requests through my style blog and I realized that I’m ignoring a huge opportunity here. So, I pushed myself and now have 2 of the planned 12 style guides on the site. One was already published, so now there are 2 as of the end of August. I also wrote another fall fashion color style guide and published it to Amazon kindle.
My goal is to have the e-books as a large source of passive income by next year. My goal for the end of this year is to have all 12 seasonal style guides published. The seasonal color analysis pages rank very well in Google and I get tons of organic traffic to OutfitIdeas4You.com. But Google Adsense is not a big earner on these pages. The best way to monetize is to market my own products on these pages. I’m confident this will raise my passive income exponentially. I just need to create the ebooks!
I’ve hired a virtual assistant to help me with the content curation for SimpleSewingProjects.com. If I’m going to be focused on creating my style guides, I’m going to need help posting good content to the sewing blog.
Plus, my vision for my business is to have my style blog and products become THE source for color style tips. So, if I want to be seen as the expert in color analysis, I’ve got to start publishing and creating content.
As for JenThoden.com, I’ve decided to just post what I’m passionate about and not worry about monetization at this point. And the blog that Joe and I share… ForTheLoveOfBeerandStuff.com is coming along! Joe posts most of the time and we’re having fun with it. Which is all that matters.
September here we come!
See you next month!
