Spring is here, and that means a fresh new palette of colors from Pantone! Every season, Pantone releases a set of colors forecasted to be the hottest hues in fashion, influencing everything from runway collections to retail trends. Normally, we get super excited about these predictions, but this season? Well, let’s just say opinions are divided.
In this episode of Midlife Moxie, Gail and Jen break down the Pantone Spring 2025 color palette, discussing which colors they love, which ones are a disaster, and how to actually wear these shades in real life. Spoiler alert: Not all of them are easy to pull off!

The Winners: Colors We Love
These are the shades that made us swoon (or at least sparked some fun styling ideas).
💜 Crocus
A stunning blend of pink and purple, Crocus is fresh, playful, and oh-so-pretty. This one is a crowd-pleaser, especially for cool undertones. Whether in a silky blouse or a breezy summer dress, Crocus is a perfect pick for spring and summer.
💙 Limpet Shell
If you love aqua blues and beachy vibes, this is the color for you! It’s a bright, warm-leaning blue that instantly feels like a vacation. Perfect for both warm and cool complexions, Limpet Shell is one of those colors that just works.
🌿 Cashmere
A soft deep sage green, this is a beautiful neutral that pairs well with everything. If you’re a fan of olive and muted greens, Cashmere will slide into your wardrobe seamlessly.
💛 Misted Marigold
A bold, deep yellow, this color is perfect for warm undertones—especially those with deeper complexions. It pairs beautifully with navy, Limpet Shell, and even earthy browns.
The Misses: Colors That Left Us Confused
Not every color in the collection had us jumping for joy. Some left us scratching our heads.
🥴 Cocoon (a.k.a. Beige But Make It… Boring?)
This warm beige with a slight greenish tint had us wondering—who exactly is wearing this? While neutrals are essential, this one felt a bit lifeless unless used strategically in a wardrobe.
🤢 Lime Cream
It’s a pale, creamy lime green that’s surprisingly tricky to wear. While it could work in patterns or with the right sheen (think satin or silk), it’s definitely not a universally flattering shade.
🤨 White Grape
A bright, yellow-based lime green, this color is not for the faint of heart. It might look stunning in editorial fashion spreads, but for everyday wear? That’s another story.
🙅♀️ Moon Beam
A dull medium gray that made us question why gray is even part of a spring palette. This shade felt out of place and uninspiring—leave it for fall!
How to Wear These Colors IRL
If you’re wondering how to incorporate these colors into your wardrobe without looking like a Pantone swatch, here are some tips:
✅ Mix neutrals with brights – Pair colors like Crocus or Misted Marigold with navy, white, or soft beige for balance.
✅ Use tricky colors in accessories – If you love Lime Cream but don’t want to wear it head-to-toe, try a scarf, handbag, or fun shoes instead.
✅ Lean into texture and fabric – Some colors (like Lime Cream and Blue Granite) work better in shiny, textured, or patterned fabrics rather than flat cotton.
✅ Look for versions of these colors in prints – Many of these colors will show up in floral, striped, or abstract prints, making them easier to wear.
Trending Beyond Pantone: The Colors We’re Actually Seeing in Stores
While Pantone gives us predictions, the real trends emerge in retail. Outside of the official Pantone colors, we’re seeing:
✨ Pastels – Think powder pink, butter yellow, and cornflower blue.
✨ Rich Browns – Earthy shades like deep mocha and soft caramel are sticking around.
✨ Classic Black & White Prints – Stripes, zebra patterns, and abstract prints are trending big this season.
So, even if you’re not loving Pantone’s picks, there are plenty of stylish options out there for spring and summer.
