NO, You do NOT Have to Wear Red for the Holidays
It's that time of year when we reach into the depths of their closet for that one red sweater that they keep to wear every December.
Good news: you don't have to wear red in December.
There are so many options for festive dressing;
so if red isn't your thing, explore these options for something new:
Metallics
Most any metallic piece can feel festive, it's all about the styling. Adding dangly or sparkly earrings to a gold, silver, bronze, or copper sweater can be an amazing holiday look. If you have cool coloring, choose silver or pewter. If you have warmer coloring, choose, gold or bronze. If your coloring is soft, as opposed to bright, choose finishes that are less shiny and reflective, or wear the shinier pieces away from your face Pair with slacks in a tonal color for a sophisticated take on a monochromatic look. Finish with some amazing heels or fun flats and you are ready to celebrate.
Shades of Green
If Christmas green is not your shade, choose an alternative like lime, olive, or hunter. Lime is amazing paired with black or denim. Add in neon accessories like hot pink and you are ready to party. Pair olive or hunter with brown or camel for a demure twist. Add sparkly gold jewelry and a metallic shoe to put you in the mood.
Berry Tones
Berry tones are trending this year and are perfect for the holidays. Pair them with silver, gold, pink, black, or gray and bring them to life with chandelier earrings or a statement necklace. Add a burgandy boot and you'll be right on trend this season.
Winter White
A monochromatic look in your best white will be a Winter vision. Cool color types should choose bright white or ivory and warmer types can choose a creamy white or even camel. Finish with jewelry in your best metal and shoes matching the look.
No matter which style you choose, consider the setting, the temperatures, and the activities. Sitting on the floor in wool winter white pants or playing a physical game in sequins may spoil your fun. Plan wisely and have a back up option in case of spills or temperature/plan changes.
Happiest of Holidays for Your Color Style...helping you to look your best all year long!
