Fall Color Trends 2024 - Pantone 2025

Fall is undoubtedly THE fashion season of the year and most of us fashionistas await the Fall color drops with much anticipation. So, what is hot for Fall 2024? Let's take a look!

Pantone released their forecast of trending colors a few months ago, after the New York and London Fall Fashion Weeks. Here they are at a glance.

Pantone Fall/Winter Colors 2025

These colors represent what is expected to appear in stores. Does that always happen? No. All colors will not funnel down to mass retail. But it is a good indicator and as the new Fall fashions arrive, it seems that Pantone is, once again, spot-on with several shades.

So, what are the hottest shades of the group?

How To Wear Italian Plum

Italian Plum

This rich, deep cool tone is EVERYWHERE for Fall. Jackets, blouses, sweaters, jeans, suede, shoes, and bags...this is THE color for Fall 2024. And even better, it looks good on all but the very lightest of color types. The shade also looks amazing in different textures like suede, wool, and leather. Pair it with plum eye shadows and either plum lips/cheeks if you are cool, or copper-toned lips/cheeks if you are warm. Both looks will be stunning.

How To Wear Baritone Blue

Baritone Blue

A version of navy, this is another deep cool shade that works for most color types. It can be paired with shades from your temperature palette or neutrals. Match your makeup to the pieces you wear with the Baritone Blue piece to bring out your own coloring and features.

How To Wear Scarlet Smile

Scarlet Smile

A soft, deep red, this shade works when brighter reds don't. It's sophisticated and elegant and doesn't take over the room. The Pantone shade is cool, but it is also appearing in stores in a slightly warm version. This red will look great with camel and browns for warm gals and with purple, gray, and black for cool gals. Choose the one that works for your color type and pair with neutral eye makeup and a corresponding red lip and cheek.

How To Wear Aventurine

Aventurine

This beautiful green shade is also appearing in stores all over. It's a slightly cool green, with a healthy shot of depth. It will look amazing on those with green or brown eyes, whether your skin is cool or warm. For a classic look, pair it with neutrals from your appropriate palette. Cool color types can wear this with gray and cool browns, while warms can pair it with deep oranges and warmer browns. Keep the makeup neutral on the eyes and choose a lip that matches the depth of the green, but in your best temperature, warm or cool.

How To Wear Fern Green

Fern

This green shade is much softer and lighter than Aventurine. It leans neutral and works well for both soft, light to medium cool and warm color types. Pair it with beiges, plums, cream, or cool or warm browns. Keep the makeup soft and neutral with just a light to medium wash of color on the lips.

How To Wear Buckthorn Brown

Buckthorn Brown

This rich, warm brown is great for medium to deep warm color types. It will look amazing when paired with other neutrals or bold colors like rust, warm red, and warm olive green. Pair it with Baritone Blue for a true classic combo. Buckthorn Brown will also look great in shoes and bags, and it makes a great base for a pattern in warm colors. Choose your makeup based on how deep your coloring is, but keep it neutral, or in the warm brown/reds category.
