WAYS TO WEAR PURPLE - Part 2 - March 2024
This month we are exploring wearing purple.
As we discussed in our last blog, everyone can wear purple, it's all about choosing the right shade and pairing it with other shades that work for your color type.
Today I present you with styling options for different color types.
Let's take a look!
HOW TO WEAR PURPLE FOR BRIGHT & COOL COLOR TYPES
Bright and cool color types can wear most any shade of purple. Pairing it with other bright shades like this radiant orange will be in harmony and balance with your natural coloring. We finished the look with accessories in shades of purple and orange, giving the outfit a lot of interest.
For makeup, choose plum or brown eye colors and a bold and shiny orange lip.
PURPLE OUTFIT IDEAS FOR SOFT & COOL COLOR TYPES
For our soft and cool gals, you cannot go wrong with lavender and pale pink. These colors give a balanced feminine feel and work well with any cool eye color.
We finished the look with pale pink and lavender accessories, but let the print in the top be the star.
For your makeup with this look, keep it ethereal and soft,
in shades of pinks and purples, and add touch of shimmer on the eyes and/or lips.
HOW TO WEAR PURPLE IF YOU HAVE WARM UNDERTONES
If you are warm and bright, lavender shades of purple will work for you also. Even though lavender is a cool shade, it is across the color wheel from the oranges and provides a nice contrast for warmer color types. Remember that your palette is about the colors that look best on you, not that the color is warm or cool.
Pair this lavender shade with peach or a warm coral for a stunning combination.
Here we found a print with both coral and lavender, pairing back to the lavender jeans and the coral jacket. To complete the look, we added added a coral sandal and a mixed color earring that mirrors the colors in the print top, a gentle form of pattern mixing.
For makeup, stick with peachy pinks or soft purples on the eyes and coral on the lips. For gloss, choose a soft, gold shimmer.
PURPLE OUTFIT IDEAS FOR SOFT & WARM COLOR TYPES
Purple may not seem like a natural shade for a soft and warm color type, but it can actually look amazing. Choose a soft, blue shade of purple like this sweater. The shade will be a lovely contrast to your warm features.
Add in a neutral like camel to keep things soft and warm.
Earrings in a similar shade of purple keeps color around your face.
Shoes and bag in a neutral beige tone complete the look.
For makeup, soft purples on the eyes, and a tan/nude or soft peachy lip will look best.
