    • Hair – Medium to dark Brown with just a little gray coming in (and have some auburn strands when in the sun)
Skin – fair to beige (may have some olive)
eyes – I usually say hazel on forms, etc., but close up they are grey-blue with a lil ring of yellow/brown around pupil (in general, they are more of a darker hazel than a light hazel)

I had previously thought I was soft, cool, deep, but now I am leaning toward soft, ??, medium.

      Hi Karen

Good news! There is very little difference between soft cool medium and deep. It’s simply the range of color. If you’re not sure, choose medium. You can always choose darker colors if you’d like.

    • Hi Jen,

I have deep blue eyes, brown hair that sits in between medium and dark, and pale, cool-toned skin. Would I be medium or deep?

      Thanks,
      Dan :)

    • Help!
Medium to Dark brown hair, dark brows
      Medium Hazel eyes with green
      Medium Olive Skin

      Are all olive skins cool?
Would I be Bright Cool Medium because of the softer eye?
Or would the softer eye make everything go to a Soft Cool Medium?

…or maybe not a cool at all?

      Thank you!

      Hi Donna

If you have pretty dark hair and medium skin, I would choose deep. Olive skin is not ALWAYS cool but I have noticed that dark earthy tones on olive skin just doesn’t work. The cooler tones seem to balance the green better. Your hazel eyes don’t necessarily mean bright or soft. I’ve seen bright hazel eyes and soft hazel eyes. Assuming you are cool and deep… do you wear bright jewel tones well? Do you wear white and black high contrast patterns? If your skin is medium with medium-dark hair, I’m thinking the bright high contrast color palette may be too strong. I would look at the soft cool deep color palette and add in some brighter colors as you’d like

    • I have light skin, dark/army green/hazel eyes, and 80% white hair. I don’t know what my natural hair color is, since I have been messing with it since me teens and started turning white around age 20. I am not sure how to answer the first question.

      Your Color Style replied:
Since your hair is mostly white and your eyes sound medium. Choose medium

    • I recently paid for an online color analysis with another stylist and she gave me a very muted “True Summer” palette. I was really confused because many of the colors were really unflattering on me. I guess I’m technically muted, but most muted colors seem to wash me out. Your response to the other bright/light/cool question made a lot of sense: “If they were also muted you’d get greyed light colors which don’t really do anything for you. Most people who are light need a little brightness.”

Why is it that typical color analysis theory seems to get this wrong?

      Your Color Style replied:
I’m so glad my explanation helped you. Seasonal color analysis does not offer training in color theory. So many well meaning consultants miss these nuances and bucket you in a season. This is one of the many reasons Your Color Style was created.
