Step 2: Medium - Warm or Cool Undertones

Color Analysis Quiz Step 2

You selected MEDIUM. This means you have medium eyes, hair AND/OR skin.

If you are not light and you are not deep, you are medium. If you feel like you are in between medium and deep, then you are in the right place. Medium is a safe range to choose. You can also go to the quiz page for Medium to Deep or Light to Medium.

Women with medium tones

You may already know your undertones. If so, select your answer below. If not, scroll down a bit for more information to help you learn your undertones.

  • I have a lot of pink in my skin – especially my cheeks- but my veins sometimes look more green and sometimes look more blue, and I have coppery medium brown hair and medium to dark brown eyes.

  • I am SO confused! I have brown hair on the ashy side but it has some natural gold highlights. At the hair salon I have been color swatched and told that my hair is a very dark blonde (but anyone who saw me would call me brunette). My eyes are dark olive grayish green- but with a ring of gold around the pupil. My skin is more green than other people. I tan easily and get brown if I stay in the sun. Out of the sun I am light but you can see an olive tone when compared to others. I can’t wear pink or gold foundation but need neutral foundation. I can not wear bright loud colors, they make me look like a zombie. Dusty muted colors look best on me. Shine and sparkle look awful on me. So I know that I am muted! I know I’m medium to dark. But I can’t tell if I’m warm or cool! I definitely can’t wear orange or yellow and camel browns make me look weird because my skin blends in with the clothing. I feel better in black than brown but I’ll wear brown mascara because black looks harsh on me. I feel good in muted green, dusty mauve, muted teal. I need colors with a good amount of gray or else I look overpowered. Any ideas?

  • I have light hazel eyes leaning toward green rather than gold or brown. My hair was a medium brown with gold highlights that later turned coppery. My hair is still brown, but faded somewhat with some silver strands.
My skin tone is somewhat of a light olive with pink as well. The veins on my wrist are neither blue nor green. They are turquoise.

  • Hi Jen! I’m having a hard time determining if I’m warm or cool. I have been told I have neutral undertones to my skin that are slightly more blush toned than yellow. I have warm brown eyes with highlighted, medium brown hair. I do not typically look good in pastels with one big exception- blush. I actually wore a blush wedding gown and I’ve never gotten more compliments in my life on the way it looked against my skin. Thoughts? Thank you for your help!

Hi EmilyThe reason you don’t look good in most pastels is because you are medium. Most people who are medium to deep do not wear pastels well. I’m not sure if the blush you are referring to is a warm pink or neutral. If it’s neutral, neither warm or cool, then it will look good on most people regardless of their undertones. So, that info isn’t clarifying enough. When you say, warm eyes, are you saying that you have golden yellow in them? If so, then you are likely warm. In my opinion, you can appear neutral but there really isn’t neutral undertone. You will lean warm or cool. You don’t need obvious yellow tones in your skin to have warm undertones. Neutral just means that you’re not obvious either way. I’m guessing warm and medium.JenSent from my iPad

  • hello,

I have dark brown hair, and under the sun, it has a slight copper reflection.

My eyes are very dark brown.

My skin color is between peach and amber brown.

When I put cold colors near my face, I have a healthy glow (rosy cheeks), and at the same time warm colors adheres better to my skin.

    Hi Chaimaa

You sound like you have warm undertones. I have a hard time believing magenta pink harmonizes with your skin. Blues and turquoise are universal colors and look good on both warm and cool undertones. I’m guessing you are warm and deep
