Hi! I'm Jen and I'm thrilled you're here!
I'm going to assume that you've come to this blog because you want to know what colors look best on you.
Right?
You may have found this blog by searching for a season from the seasonal color palettes. That's what a lot of people do. In fact, this blog used to be all about seasonal color analysis.
But I've refined my color analysis technique into a unique color system that is WAY easier and less confusing than seasonal color analysis. Discovering your best colors should have nothing to do with what season you belong to. There are so many variations now within each season, it's no longer an easy guide to determine what colors will ultimately look good on you.
Plus, you're left with a color palette and no idea how to combine your colors... understand why THOSE colors and not these other colors... and the relationship among your colors so that you can pull together kick-ass outfits.
So, I've simplified and I've designed a new and better way to define your best colors... and to learn how to create an amazing wardrobe with those colors.
Introducing... Your Color Style™
Your Color Style™ is an easy 3-step process to creating a custom color palette that's perfect for YOU... using one of two original color wheels created specifically for this color system. The Your Color Style™ color system is SIMPLE, different and it works for ALL skin tones.
How Your Color Style™ Works
Here is a video that explains how Your Color Style™ works...
The first step to discovering your best colors in Your Color Style™ system is to decide which color wheel to use.
There are 2 color wheels. A bright, clear chroma color wheel and a soft, muted color wheel. You will only wear colors from one of these color wheels.
One of the biggest reasons a color doesn't look right on someone is because of the chroma. Chroma is how clear or muted a color is. Muted colors have grey added to them. Clear colors do not have grey added.
A person, who has clear chroma features, should wear colors from the BRIGHT color wheel. Muted colors will wash her out.
A person, who has soft features, should wear colors from the SOFT color wheel. Bright colors will wear her and makeup will look painted.
So the first question to answer is...
Step 1: Are You Soft or Bright?
You may already know the answer. If so, you can scroll down to Step 2.
Here are a few key characteristics of someone who is "soft":
Soft hazel eyes
Soft, not super deep, dark eyes
Soft grey-green or grey-blue eyes
A combination of dark brown eyes and blonde hair
A combination of dark eyes and grey hair
I've created several videos with LOTS of examples to help you identify if you are soft or bright:

Step 2: Are You Warm, Cool or Neutral?
My FREE e-book "What Colors Look Good On Me?" is a great resource to figuring out if you have warm or cool undertones.
This is where you will begin to customize your color wheel so that you are wearing your BEST colors. MOST people have either warm undertones or cool undertones.
If you have warm undertones, then you will wear the warm colors on the left side of your color wheel plus the universal colors on the cool side of the color wheel.
If you have cool undertones, then you will wear the cool colors on the right side of your color wheel plus the universal colors on the warm side of the color wheel.
It IS possible to be neutral, but I am a firm believer that every person leans more into one temperature over another. Choose your best temperature and then use the other as a secondary palette.
Here are some characteristics of warm undertones:

Step 3: Customize Your Color Wheel
This is the easiest and last step. My rule of thumb is to only wear a color as dark as your darkest feature (eyes, eyebrows, hair, skin).
Based on this idea, you may want to remove the outer most dark ring of colors because they may be too dark for you.
If you are very fair, wear the second darker outer ring sparingly.
If you have warm undertones and you are deep, you may want to remove the inner most ring because those light colors will wash you out.
